How to Add Yourself to the CSY Map

A little more on how to add YOURSELF to the map...

1.  Click in the map link (here it is again for your convenience):

This should take you to a Google Maps page.  My map page also has an SSCA map.  So make sure you are looking at the 'Map of CSYs'

2.  Zoom down to where your boat is located.  You might be able to put in the address of your marina or house, to get Google to be really accurate, or just keep zooming.

3.  Click the EDIT button on the left sidebar.  Now you should see a little balloon like thing in the upper right corner of the map.  That is a pushpin. 

4.  Grab the pushpin with your mouse and drag the pushpin where your boat is on the map.  You can move it once you drop it.

5.  Put your boat name in the title and your name and boat type in the description box associated with the pushpin.

6.  Double click on the pushpin to change the color of the pushpin to match your boat type, as follows:

    CSY 33 - Green
    CSY 37 - Red
    CSY 44 WO - Royal Blue
    CSY 44 WT - Purple
    CSY 44 PHK - Yellow
    CSY 44 Fisherman - Aqua Blue

7.  When finished, click the Done button.

Got the map, zoomed on my location, but I can't seem to find an "Edit Button" anywhere.  Help??

See the picture (red arrow points to the edit button).  If you don't see it, it may be that you have to be a Google member to edit...??

Harry,

The Edit button will not appear until you sign in to Google.  First click "sign in," then create a new account if you don't have one, and then the edit button appears.

A few people have inadvertently changed the position of other boats when they were trying to add / edit their boat information. Please be careful when adding or editing your boat on the map. If you have problems please send me a message in my private email on this site and I will add you boat to the map. I will need the boat name, your name (optional), hull number (optional), type of engine (optional) and a description of the location.
