Just noticed a CSY walkthrough on E bay in Mobile Al. Looks like a distress sale, missing rudder and mast,Seems it ran aground and then was hit by lightning. Interior looks in good shape. Hull No. TXY44W360181

78, 44 Walk Over Deep Draft, short stick seriously for sale.  Its a project but could sail away without much effort.
I can provide photos.

Partial info.

66HP Yanmar just returned with excellent report card
Gears are brand new
Completely rewired
Sails in very good condition
Life Raft
10' Avon RHIB no motor
Inverter  Still in Box
Lots of new stuff
Radar
Stereo
Sat TV Receiver

Engine space is a clean slate   Original Water tanks removed
Original Fuel Tanks removed
Needs portlights in stern.  Other aft cabin portlights have been replaced NFM Brass.
Original Ice boxes Removed not yet replaced.

I have a lot things that might be useful that will go with the boat including tools and materials.

This will be a "as is"  "where is" deal"

Its better than a project but still needs work

We have been sailing it while doing work and just removed the engine to have it completely gone through.

Asking price is 60K negotiable.   Looking for a reasonable offer.

For photos and more info send me a PM.

Looking at the Yacht World list again, I see a WO with a hard bimini and a green stripe in Ft. Lauderdale for $59K

http://www.yachtworld.com/core/listing/pl_boat_detail.jsp?currency=USD&units=Feet&id=2145937&lang=en&slim=quick&

Quick sale because of health of owner.  Does anyone know what boat this is?

We talked with the broker and after asking him many questions about the boat we decided that we were not interested in her.  The broker was nice and said that he is ready to sale and would give a deal on the boat...so if anyone is looking for a CSY they could probably pick us this boat under market.  thanks widget

Hi
I’m new to this forum.
My wife and I are looking for a CSY 37’ as we intend to have a cruising life, in the Keys and the Bahamas (even further in the Caribbean at a later stage) when we’ll (soon) retire.
We are in contact with a broker proposing a 37’ from 1979 named « Anna Karenina » ( ! poor Tolstoy should be turning around in his grave)
Anybody knows this boat ? and can give me some information about her past history , by any chance ?
Also the boat is shoal draft boat.
Any warning about the way shoal draft CSY 37’ sail, apart the obvious difficulty to easily  point upwind ?
Thank you
Alec

Yep, I know that boat:

It was bought recently at National Liquidators for $20K or so.

Presently moored at a dock on the New River in Fort Lauderdale.

Looks to be in fairly good shape, but needs some cosmetic TLC.

Saw this ad on the Internet:

http://www.sailboatlistings.com/view/12400

My understanding is that "PILOTHOUSE" indicates an inside steering station.

No CSY 33 was ever made as a Pilothouse, yet the term keeps popping up on the internet because some dorky author of a "Broker's Guide to SailBoats" got mixed up with the CSY 44 Pilothouse and the looks of a standard CSY 33.
(The CSY 33 has the "house" look to it, but that has nothing to do with an inside steering-station: The bow is too high and the front windows too low to do any kind of steering inside exept in mid-ocean and in good viz.)

I looked into it and kind of converted my CSY 33 into a "poor man's pilothouse" by adding a clear viewing port, an inside compass and a remote for the autopilot, but that setup is just for emergencies and not a Pilothouse sailboat..

Picture anyways...
